Photographing with Kids? Read on...

Kids are fantastic fun to photograph!

Not only are they adorable, but they are often unaware of the camera or very quickly forget it’s there so you will get candid shots which capture your children just the way you see them at home.

This also means we adjust our approach and style to suit them. So here are some tips for kids photography which we encourage you to follow:

• Bring their favourite toys such as bikes, stuffed toys or books. This helps engage your kids in something specific and will become a great memory.
• Choose the right time of the day when your kids are known to be active and alert.
• Select a few different outfits so you’ll have more unique photographs.
• Avoid bright or confusing attire, logos or brand names.
• Take a backpack with some light snacks to keep up the energy levels and make the most of your photography session.
• Be patient – we let the kids play at their own pace. It can take a few minutes to catch an interesting expression but we’ll take enough frames to give you a great portrait selection.
