Joanne & Remy: St Brigits Coogee, The Rocks, L’Aqua Terrace
Amazing! With a healthy mix of French and Australian influences, this day oozed class, sophistication and well…just fun!
Joanne and Remy are just wonderful together.
I know this because when we traveled up to the families farm in the Hunter Valley for the engagement session, seeing the two of them together was incredible. It was a wonderful few hours shooting early morning light around the property – the long grass, the smell of mist and the calm breeze through tree leaves…..and then later, the smell of a BBQ. Despite having at the time a three week old bub at home in Sydney, I was convinced to stay for lunch and enjoyed some wonderful country hospitality before heading back to the big smoke. Gees that was nice!
Fast forward to the wedding day and nothing had changed. These two were ready…well almost…I arrived at the boys to be informed Remy was at the airport – “Oh….Hmmm, ok” thinking humorously in my mind was he arriving or running 😀 No chance of that, he wanted to marry Joanne waaaayyy to much! Not to panic, he turned up a few minutes later and we grabbed a few shots before heading across to the girls.
I walked into the room and Joanne was having the finishing touches done to hair and makeup, “How’s it all going Jo?”, a firm thumbs up was the answer! Coolio! Every detail was amazing and then when Jo slipped on her dress – wow! Dad was a little quite after that, just admiring his little girl and mum was holding back the tears – but in there helping at every turn.
Joanne just looked amazing!
Off to the church down at Coogee to make it all official. Remy and the boys were ready at the alter, but the girls decided to do a couple of ‘blockies’ before landing safely at the church and head on in. A beautiful ceremony followed which included a wonderfully sung traditional song by the French contingent – wow that was great!
From the church we did a fly-by photo shoot down at the rock pool for old times family tradition before heading into Argyle St for location shots. A whip around the lovely area and then off to the always awesome L’Aqua Terrace Room. The room was decorated perfectly with all the tables named after french towns (I think) and the room stimulating the ‘ol factory sensors with a the slight scent of a cheese wedding cake.
Not your typical cheese (cream) cake, but slabs of premium soft and hard cheese – beautifully sliced up later as cheese platters for the guests. The Baker Boys made sure nobody was sitting down for long and we rocked the night away. Sensational days guys, cheers, M
