Tessa and Hadley’s wedding day at Sydney Polo Club was absolutely superb!
My first thought in writing about this day was, gees it was wet! My second though being, bummer we didn’t get to see the stretched kombi and the girls were a bit late.
But you know what – none of that mattered, seriously!
This was a day planned for fun, family, love and some stylish, funky celebration – tick!! Changing the day around I arrived at the girls first to all the pre-wedding fun & mayhem you’d expect.
With Tessa, five bride-maids, their partners, two super cute page boys (Josiah & Archie- seriously check these little fellas out), the dog, me, parents, hair and makeup girls (nice work), it was a wonder I got a foot in – love the whirlwind – and the ever smiling face of Ken buzzing around – what a family 🙂
Then off to see the boys at the Sydney Polo Club ahead of Tessa’s arrival. We had planned a quick shoot, you know, smash out a few quick shots ahead of the girls arriving but when we got news the car was having ‘a few issues’, we had a bit more fun with the guys. As it turned out the kombi had unfortunately stripped its gearbox – devastating for everyone (feeling for the drivers – top blokes) however Tessa was not to be fazed.
I was ready to drive out and pick up the girls however to the rescue came a few passing good folk who offered to drive the bridal party the rest of the way to the ceremony – how cool were these people? Tessa was calmed in conversation by her now new ‘driver’ being a horse trainer from Tessa’s horse training/stable circles – even cooler!
Tessa, Ken and the girls arrived and gees she looked as graceful as ever and ready to meet Hadley at the top of the isle.
Oh and Ken was still smiling away 🙂
Under the barn roof, with the band playing, a few songs and wonderful words, these two were married by the ever wonderful Carolyn Dennis – beautiful ceremony!
Afterwards guest enjoyed a beautiful spread of afternoon tea while I took the bridal party around the property. With the rain, mud and time we didn’t get to explore to far but it was awesome to have these guys among the wonderful colours that rain brings on a garden setting wedding. Love it!
Then it was off to the party in the barn!
The food was awesome, the atmosphere was great and the speeches were, well absolute crackers. All the speeches were eloquent and an absolute entertainment to listen to. One of the highlights being Peter giving (I think) 13 cows, 1 bull and maybe some chickens to Ken as the ‘dowry’. Peter and Ken (the two dads) I could watch all night – funny buggers through and through!
All too soon it was time to wrap up and bid the couple farewell. With a guest guard of honor tunnel, a few splashing shoes in mud and rain on our heads, Tessa and Hadley slid into Peters stunning restored red mini and disappeared into the night.
This was a real special day for everyone (and myself). Enjoy the teaser shots, cheers, M
